WHEREAS, it is generally recognized on the right that abortion is murder and WHEREAS, we applaud the Abbot administration’s banning of abortion in the state of Texas and the Trump administration’s defunding of planned parenthood; and
WHEREAS, the argument against abortion usually goes as: 1.) Ending an innocent human life is murder. 2.) A zygote/embryo/fetus constitutes an innocent human life. 3.) Abortion ends the life of a zygote/embryo/fetus. 4.) Therefore, abortion is murder.
WHEREAS, IVF very often results in the discarding of multiple embryos after the procedure, one could substitute “IVF” for “abortion” in 3.) and 4.), and the conclusion would still be true.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we urge our leaders to ban IVF in Texas.
