About us.

The Young Republicans of Texas (YRT) is the official youth wing of the Republican Party of Texas, uniting conservatives ages 18–40 across the state since 2023.

We stand for an America First agenda that puts American workers and citizens first, treats citizenship as a bond of allegiance, and preserves the Texan and American way of life. With 2,500+ members and 22 chapters statewide, we’re building the next generation of conservative leaders, because the fight for Texas starts young.

“We were handed a civilization, not a blank slate.”Brett Bushnell, Vice Chair

Our values.

  • Civic engagement

Identify opportunities to serve, get plugged in, activate.

  • Community

We are loyal to our shared heritage and our fellow Texans, united in values and goals.

  • Honesty

The principles we proclaim in public are lived in our private lives, we do the right thing, and our word can be trusted.

  • Faith

We hold ourselves to the Triune God’s eternal moral law, espouse it publicly, and strive to embody it in our daily lives.

  • Citizens first

The first claim on Texas jobs, land, and public policy belongs to the citizens and heirs of this state and nation.

  • Family

We work to make Texas the best place in America to marry, have children, and raise a family.

  • Heritage

We honor the legacy and tradition of our fathers and the culture of courage and innovation we inherited.

  • Courage

We speak the truth without fear and don’t disavow our own to appease the left.

  • Accountability

Officeholders owe the grassroots a recorded vote and an honest answer.

Common questions.

Who can join YRT?

Any conservative aged 18–40 living in Texas. You join YRT by joining your local chapter; that membership is what makes it official.

Does it cost anything?

Connecting with a chapter is free. Each chapter runs its own membership, and some charge dues or event fees.

Do I need political experience?

No. Most of our members started with zero experience.

How soon will I hear back?

Usually within 48 hours. Your info goes to the chapter’s leaders, and one of them reaches out personally.

How often do chapters meet?

Most chapters host monthly meetings and events, plus statewide gatherings.

What if there’s no chapter near me?

We’ll help you start one. Start a chapter.
