About the Young Republicans of Texas
YRT exists to unite young conservatives, build community, and expand youth engagement in Texas politics. We provide opportunities for activism and meaningful involvement in campaigns, counties, and the Republican Party of Texas.
Our Story
The Young Republicans of Texas (YRT) was formed to give young conservatives ages 18–40 a place to belong and a pathway into meaningful political involvement. Today, YRT is recognized as the official youth auxiliary of the Republican Party of Texas. With 2,200+ members and 19 chapters statewide, our organization continues to grow as young Texans step into leadership roles, organize events, and strengthen the conservative movement at every level.
Our Values
Civic Engagement
We believe young conservatives should play an active role in shaping the future. Leaders are elected by those who show up, and we encourage our members to stay informed, involved, and engaged.
Community
Politics is a team effort. We build a community where friendships form the foundation for collective success in activism, leadership, and life.
Integrity
We hold ourselves to a high standard. We do the right thing even when no one is watching, and we stay committed to our principles regardless of challenges.
Our Leadership
The Young Republicans of Texas is led by dedicated young professionals who volunteer their time to build the movement statewide.
Isaac Laster
Chairman
I was raised in the DFW area, and my deep love for Texas and commitment to my Christian faith drive everything I do in the political arena. When the Trump movement reshaped Republican politics, I felt called to step in and help ensure conservative Christian and nationalist voices had a strong place in shaping the future of our state. I founded the successful Plano Young Republicans before becoming deeply invested in the mission of the Young Republicans of Texas, where I now serve as Chairman. My goal is to lead YRT in championing Texas-first policies, supporting true conservative fighters, and preserving the culture and values that make our home worth defending.
I joined YRT because I wanted to see the future of Texas politics shaped by young people who have concerns about the things I do! For far too long, young people haven't been active in their communities. My passion for politics sparked when I interned at a political party during Trump's campaign. I saw someone finally challenge the establishment with an American First policy, and wanted to do everything I could to fight for the cause. Now, with YRT, I'm hopeful that we're training the next generation of politicians to keep Texas red!

I joined YRT because I’m driven to ensure the next generation of Texans proudly carries the torch of strong conservative values and keeps our state the most prosperous place in America. My passion for politics ignited in 2015 when Donald Trump announced his presidential campaign. His bold “Make America Great Again” vision, rooted in unapologetic patriotism, faith, and putting America first, resonated deeply with me. When I discovered the Young Republicans of Texas, I was excited to connect with fellow young conservatives who share my commitment to seeing our state thrive and to proudly restoring the timeless conservative principles that have always made Texas exceptional.
I started out in politics as an intern for State Representative Kyle Biedermann in 2020, where I witnessed first hand the rampant corruption throughout the Texas House. This motivated me to get involved in grassroots activism and use my experience in technology to assist in shifting Texas to the right. I was a founding board member of the Young Republicans of Texas and the Gillespie County Young Republicans in Fredericksburg, Texas. I proudly serve as the YRT Secretary and President of GCYR. I'm deeply committed to my Reformed Christian faith, America First principles, and youth awareness in local politics.
